The weekend began with a tightly contested encounter against Blue Santos Queens at Eshiandukusi Primary, where the two sides battled to an entertaining 1-1 draw. Despite playing away from home, The Iron Ladies matched one of the league’s strongest sides throughout the 90 minutes to earn an important point.
Later in the afternoon, the academy produced a dominant performance at Ileho Secondary, defeating Gonga Nyota Ladies 3-0. The convincing victory capped off an impressive away trip, highlighting the team’s attacking quality and defensive discipline.
Taking four points from a possible six on the road is a significant achievement and keeps the academy firmly in the race near the top of the league standings.

What to Expect

The upcoming fixtures could prove decisive in shaping the title race.
The opening clash against Promise Starlets presents the biggest challenge of the weekend. The league leaders remain unbeaten, but The Iron Ladies will be eager to use home advantage to reduce the six-point gap and reignite the championship battle.
The second encounter against Blue Santos Queens is expected to be another closely fought affair after the two teams shared the spoils in last weekend’s 1-1 draw. With only one point separating the two sides in the standings, victory would strengthen The Iron Ladies’ hold on third place and could see them move even higher depending on other results.
The weekend concludes with a blockbuster showdown against Kakamega All-Starlets FC, currently second in the table. A positive result would not only boost The Iron Ladies’ promotion ambitions but could also significantly reshape the top three positions.
Playing all three matches at home gives the academy an excellent opportunity to build momentum, delight the supporters, and continue their impressive campaign. If the team maintains the discipline shown in the recent away victories while capitalizing on home support, the weekend could become a defining chapter in the 2025/26 FKF Kakamega County Women League season.
Come out in large numbers and cheer on the Iron Ladies Soccer Academy as they continue their pursuit of league glory. Together, we are stronger!
