The Iron Ladies Soccer Club enjoyed a remarkable and historic week beginning Monday, 19th January 2026, as both the Academy and National Super League (NSL) sides delivered outstanding performances that firmly placed the club at the centre of Western Region football headlines.

Academy Side Announce Arrival in Style

The week kicked off with the official competitive debut of the Iron Ladies Academy — the junior and mentorship arm of the NSL senior team — in the BingwaFest 2nd Edition Western Region Championships. Drawn against Talent Ladies in their opening fixture, the Academy side showcased the true meaning of iron sharpens iron, cruising to a dominant 5–0 victory. Irene grabbed a sensational hat-trick, while Miriam added a brace to complete an emphatic start.

Momentum continued on Wednesday with a double-header. In the first match, the Iron Ladies Academy held arch-rivals Kabras Queens to a hard-fought goalless draw in what has long been regarded as a regional derby. Later that day, they edged past Lwanda Ladies 1–0, courtesy of a decisive strike from Moureen “Mou”, sealing an unbeaten group-stage run and finishing top of their pool.

Quarter-Finals and Semi-Final Heroics

Friday saw the Academy advance further after defeating Kakamega All Starlets 2–1 in the quarter-finals, with Miriam and Moureen once again finding the back of the net.

Saturday proved to be one of the most demanding days in the club’s history, featuring both Academy semi-finals and a crucial NSL fixture.

In the BingwaFest semi-finals, the Iron Ladies Academy faced Division One giants Chakol Queens — widely tipped favourites for the tournament. Defying expectations, the young Iron Ladies produced a spirited display to stun Chakol Queens 2–1, with goals from Moureen and Miriam sending the Academy into the finals.

NSL Side Keep Winning Momentum

Meanwhile, the senior NSL side continued their winning streak in a must-win encounter against Eldoret Falcons. A superbly taken free kick from Flora “Floshy” secured all three points, adding to the day’s celebrations and underlining the club’s growing dominance across all levels.

BingwaFest Champions Crowned

Fresh from their NSL victory, the senior team rallied behind the Academy in the BingwaFest Finals on Sunday afternoon. Facing Lwanda Ladies once again, the Iron Ladies Academy delivered under pressure, clinching a tightly contested 2–1 victory. Moureen and Miriam were once more on the scoresheet, crowning an extraordinary tournament run and officially declaring the Iron Ladies Academy Western Region Champions.
