KWNSL Preseason Friendly: Iron Ladies Stage Dramatic Comeback Against Trans Nzoia Falcons

In a thrilling preseason encounter at Matete Stadium, newly promoted National Super League (NSL) side Iron Ladies Soccer Club held fellow NSL contenders Trans Nzoia Falcons to a dramatic 2-2 draw in what proved to be a high-intensity warm-up match.

The visitors dominated the early proceedings, capitalizing on defensive lapses from the hosts. Trans Nzoia Falcons took the lead through Mercy before Masiga doubled their advantage before halftime, putting the Iron Ladies under pressure heading into the break.

However, the second half was a different story. Fired up and determined, the Iron Ladies clawed their way back into the game. Nicole Hawi sparked the comeback with a well-placed goal before Purity leveled the scores with a powerful finish, sending the home fans into a frenzy.

Both teams showcased tactical depth and fighting spirit, making the friendly a valuable test ahead of the 2025/26 NSL campaign.

“It was a very competitive match. We needed this kind of pressure to gauge our readiness,” said Iron Ladies Head Coach Lemmy Easter.

“A tough but productive game. We saw areas we need to fine-tune before the season begins,” echoed Iron Ladies TM Jeff Mudembei.

With the league kickoff drawing closer, both sides will be looking to build on the lessons learned from this encounter as they sharpen their squads for what promises to be a thrilling season.
